Oversee and engage in all of SMBMI’s cultural resources- and social/environmental justice- based government-to-government consultation with federal, tribal, state and local governments. The CRM Director will conduct strategic planning both intra-and inter-departmentally to create and implement a robust Serrano heritage stewardship program for SMBMI that focuses on a five-pronged approach of: cultural resources-based research and advocacy regulatory compliance ancestor and cultural object repatriation tribal community capacity building and cultural literacy training for employees and external partners.ġ.
The Director of Cultural Resources Management (CRM) is responsible for the comprehensive and cohesive management of a dedicated and innovative department of the SMBMI Tribal government whose mission is to identify, apply, and champion the cultural resources management goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribal community’s vision, mission, values, and imperatives.
